October days
Well here we are again and it's been about 5 weeks since I've blogged, despite my good intentions to update regularly. The nights really are drawing in now, and it's chillier, and I'm not looking forward to the end of the month when we put the clocks back and it'll be dark at 4 pm ! I hate it and wish we could stop doing all this with the clocks. I've been making a few cards which I'll upload to here, the first one being a Kingfisher design, made using Design House papers from Making Cards magazine and some natural raffia. The next two seaside designs are also using papers from Making Cards, with some Faye Whittaker decoupage on the middle one.....these are lovely designs and always prove popular.

Lucky mouse
Well, I've just managed to catch yet another mouse, a little "gift" fetched in by one of our cats earlier last night. We were sitting watching George Gently when I head a scuffle, and at that time wasn't able to catch mousey, but now, 5 hours on, husband in bed, me sitting here wide awake as per usual, I managed to grab his tail as he sheltered under the bottom of my jeans near my right foot when I moved a cabinet to see where he'd got to ! Success ! I dropped him into the large sweets jar we keep for such occasions, then tipped him out the lounge window....I then heard noises, and along came one of our cats heading right towards mousey who was sitting quietly, still in shock and recovering from his ordeal...luckily Minnie didn't notice him, but was more attracted to the piece of cheese that had also fallen out of the sweet jar (which we put in the jar earlier hoping to draw mousey out of his hiding place). I had a torch and scanned the ground outside, only to see mousey walking off slowly and quietly so as not to attract any further attention...result :o)
I thought I'd add the above card to this post, it's one I made for my husband's eldest grandaughter last December, and just captures the mood of the mouse in question, thanks to the lovely House Mouse designs.

These are the two cards I sent in to the Hobby Art customer gallery. The top one I made for my step daughter, using the Birdhouse stamp, with Tim Holtz Forest Green distress ink, and the second one was my first attempt with some of the Scene-it stamps, using Hunkydory cardstock, and then watercoloured, made for my husband's birthday. Thanks to Hobby Art for putting them in their gallery and thanks to you for looking :o)

Has the summer been and gone ?
Well, in the past few months it's been a bit up and down here with a few health issues in the family. I'm not sure what to say about the weather we've been having, it was hot in March, then almost like winter again, and then a selection of seasons, sometimes four in one day (there's a song there somewhere !). We are experiencing really heavy downpours at the moment, interspersed with bouts of intense sunshine, but it also feels autumnal in the morning and evening and I think tonight the temperature is expected to drop to an all time low. Weird climate that's for sure. I've been buying more craft stuff (naturally) and having a go as and when, and have been brave enough to send my cards in to a couple of blogs, namely Little Claire (who I love and am a club member) and Hobby Art, I love their stamps too and enjoy watching Jenny Mayes demoing, she makes it all look so easy ! Anyway, I'm pleased to say both sites have published my cards on their respective blogs, so that spurs me on no end. I will at some point add the cards in question to this blog too. All our 4 cats are doing ok, although one of the youngest, Minnie, injured her leg 3 weeks ago and has been on lots of anti-biotics and anti-inflammatory drugs, and it looks like she has got back to full health now, thank goodness. She is just over one year old, as is Marmite our little black kittie, she's a real sweetie. Our other two are Chile and PepC, who now look a bit different to the cover photo as they are both just coming up to two years old. Chile is my "baby boy", a gorgeous cuddly cat, and PepC is a real loon, she's goes scatty all the time, and is often called Loopy-Lou ! They are all lovely though and I will add some up to date pictures of them soon. I would love to be able to sit here all day doing nothing but this and making cards, but then nothing else would get done, hence the big gaps in communication ! It's nice to come back and leave a few notes though, and on that happy note I will take my leave for now, but hopefully will be back sooner than I was last time (if that makes sense !).
Five commissioned cards - thinking cap on !
I made the above cards for a friend using a variety of products including Helz Cuppleditch, Little Claire, M-Bossibilities folder, and Pink Gem character and papers from Creative Cardmaking magazine.
